Anyone who likes round by round betting matchups in golf has a great opportunity. If you watched the Buick Invitational Thursday, then you know what I am going to be talking about.
If your book offers matchups by round, take a hard look at it. I am sure they probably will not have many matchups like the following:
Torrey Pines has 2 courses, the North and South Course. The North played A LOT LOT EASIER THURSDAY! I am not sure if it will be the same Friday, but I would bet on it. Every one of the top 15 people or so played the NORTH. Everyone you see over par, probably played the other course. I believe they flip courses for Friday. Now, if your book is dumb enough to put matchups of golfers playing opposite courses, I would reccomend playing the one that is on the NORTH COURSE.
First-round scores are never more misleading than at the Buick Invitational, with one course that plays like a pitch-and-putt at 6,874 yards and the other that will host the U.S. Open in two years. Of the top 40 players, only five played on the South Course, which measures 7,607 yards and yielded an average score of 73.9. Not only was it four shots tougher Thursday, it took about 30 minutes longer for rounds on the South to be completed.
Everyone check the books please. If anyone finds some matchups that one golfer is playing the SOUTH, and the other playing the NORTH. PLEASE POST. THANKS
